Local, hands-on bookkeeping & tax support, since 1995
For more than two decades, we’ve helped individuals and small businesses stay organized, compliant, and confident about their numbers. You get clear communication, reliable delivery, and advice that helps you make better decisions, not just at tax time, but all year.
Our Story & Staff
Kohler Financial Services was founded by Victoria L. Kohler and Amy L. Smith with a simple promise: treat people like neighbors and do the work with care. Victoria—mother, mentor, and co-founder—sparked our love for numbers and service. She passed on October 10, 2015, after a battle with kidney cancer, but her legacy guides everything we do: be accurate, be kind, and always show up for clients. Amy continues that legacy today as owner and CEO.
Amy L. Smith – Owner, Tax Professional & Accountant
Amy is a tax professional and accountant with over 30 years of experience in individual and business tax preparation and accounting. Throughout her career, she has focused on serving small businesses and families, helping them stay compliant, organized, and confident about their numbers. Her goal is always the same: make taxes and bookkeeping less stressful by providing clear guidance, accurate work, and practical advice clients can actually use.
She has worked with a wide range of clients and situations, from start-ups and growing small businesses to established entities and long-time individual filers. Amy takes time to understand each client’s unique circumstances so she can tailor her approach—whether that means year-round support, planning ahead for tax season, or helping clean up and streamline existing books.
Amy lives in Port Orange with her husband, Mark, and is a proud mother of five and grandmother of three. When she’s not working with clients, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, and pursuing her spiritual goals. That blend of experience, values, and personal dedication shapes the way she runs the firm and the level of care she brings to every client relationship.

He serves as an adviser by helping them improve their financial position, maximize the value of their business, and minimize their tax burden. He has been actively involved with the Port Orange/South Daytona Chamber of Commerce, serving as an ambassador and on the board of directors, and he volunteers with a local non-profit organization in Port Orange, the ArtHaus Foundation.
